Traveling the Ho Chi Minh Trail

We took a bus on the Ho Chi Minh Trail a logistical system that used to run from the North Vietnam to South Vietnam while traveling through the neighboring kingdoms of Laos and Cambodia. We left Hanoi early in the morning and traveled about 12 hours on the bus to Da Nang. We learned from locals on the bus that this system was used to provide support, in the form of manpower and materiel, during the Vietnam War (1960-1975). We realized that the trail is not a single route, but rather a complex maze of truck routes, paths for foot and bicycle traffic, and river transportation systems.
